Artist: Yanela Ruano Fernández
"ANOTHER SIDE OF THE ARTIST"
In a city with a strong tradition in its landscape as is Santiago de Cuba, Yanela Ruano’s work opens a window for us to see one of its underrepresented artists and style: its MODERNITY. Locally, there are buildings on 1st Street between 6 and 8, X division, where we can appreciate the rigid schemes in the design and acoustic adaptation of modern urbanism patterns. Her paintings transport us to a space, habitable today, product of the magic of her palette, because in Yanela’s work, there is a whole aesthetic of color, not the natural color, but the social color that makes us reflect on ourselves, in this case through the labyrinthine world of art.
Her paintings are her paintings
The colors she uses are not her colors
Because in Yanela there is a whole aesthetic of expressionism
Because in Yanela there is a whole aesthetic of constructivism
Because in Yanela there is a whole aesthetic of futurism
Because in Yanela there is a whole aesthetic of pleasure that transports us to another dimension, the dimension of the spiritual.
